Artist's Statement
“I believe that art can contribute to cultural change, helping to rethink what has destroyed the proper mentality of relating to nature and to develop the correct one. Abuse lies in thinking of an uncontrolled growth that has lost sight of the natural laws of man and his home. These must be revised or researched to try again for a true future, which is as immeasurable as the inner life of man. Much must be welcomed back into oneself, such as lightness. of being, joy, sincerity, enthusiasm, wonder, and purity. It will then be easier to return home to the true fertility of nature.” Artist’s Statement for Earth Day 2022.
“I studied classical painting, drawing, and modeling, and since I became an architect, art has accompanied my conversations with experiments. I’m fascinated by exploring the classic expression of art through contemporary techniques and concepts. I like the power of color, the non-geometric abstract, the color that flows fluidly in aqueous or oily solutions, or the full-bodied substance of paint that moves with the spatula. Color, which is, for me, a direct expression of art, and also the material. Hence the fun of searching among recycled materials, fascinated by plastic and paper, especially. The wonder of the material or materials comes from my architectural studies. I rarely use geometric shapes, but I’m fascinated by everything organic, round and soft worlds, this is a main trait d’union of the informal photographic series. I also believe it’s important for the artist to have the courage to insist on even niche themes that they find interesting in communication. For this reason, I’ve dedicated myself greatly to the lightness of being and carefreeness, to the world of miracles, Subjects that are now wasted in modern society. Or the allure of plastic, a dubious material today that has instead allowed so much. And also figures composed with a pop atmosphere and an organic setting. Almost retro subjects, no longer in fashion, that instead have much to say to contemporary life.
Art is a primary support for human life; it sustains the imagination, the power to see beyond what isn’t there, or the ability to think critically. For this reason, it is an instrument of movement in life, also has power to change, yes, art can change the world. Or better, and also, the world can be colored.”
