In 2013, Giovannella produced a small photographic series, photographing organic landscapes created by combining plastic materials. In 2021 and 2022, she revisited the series, conducting further research on the theme, adding grass and stone backdrops to the initial cardboard background and depicting other plastics. She then diversified the series through the use of digital color effects.
The result is an abstract exploration centered on the power of matter and color, with a critique of change. The materials were organized into thematic series: Bagno di colore, Balene, Uova Ricettate, La Guerra dei Tomatoes. The latter, highly critical, was a finalist for the Virtual 02 prize organized by Photoprojectpro, while Bagni di colore was published by Mainlands edition on Shotstotell. Bagno di colore is a series that begins with rarefied matter and colors to arrive at greater textures. Balene is a story of organic landscapes, a hymn to the roundness of approaches. Recycled Eggs portrays abstract landscapes composed of recycled materials. The Tomato War is a story about an old tomato, who tries to walk on a sidewalk and can no longer color himself properly, encountering sterility and strange effects, yet still trying to dream of his own life.
Dirty Gasoline is a retrospective of the artist, where suspended landscapes characterized by discarded and used materials, such as bottles and cigarettes, create emotional, cathartic situations through color. Splash Color is a series characterized by the playfulness of certain characters, always linked by organic forms.
All the informal photographic art series are NFT collections.
